When my bub was six months i googled about “Indoor Educational Activities for Kids below 1 year” about 1000 times. I mean i was at home doing all the duties, finishing the house chores, playing with him and it still used to be just afternoon. Due to summer, the days were reallllyyy long, and i needed some creative play to keep him occupied which also helps in his all round development.

This is that time of the year again, so i am here sharing all the Indoor Educational activities planned for my 1-year-old. Well, they can not be perfect with their fine motor skills and gross motor skills but there are many interactive, learning games that can be played. These activities are creative, fun and indoor so best to played during Summer!!!
Focus areas for Kids below 1 year are motor skills like hold an object, pass the object, pick up something from the floor, find something which is pointed. Vision and hearing skills like identification of their favorite music, look for a dropped toy etc. So lets start with some activites.
So lets start with some activites.
It’s important to remember that one of the many benefits of Tummy Time is upper body strengthening through weight-bearing on the arms. With that in mind, you won’t want ALL of your baby’s Tummy Time to take place over a Boppy or Tummy Time pillow. But it’s a nice way to add variety to belly-down play still, accomplishes many of the benefits of Tummy Time and is a great alternative to parking baby in baby gear during awake time.
Simple fill the bag with some gel and colourful pom pom , stick with a tape on the window, let them touch feel, explore and get excited!!!
Just tie the different coloured ribbons on the baby gym or clothes line.and lay your baby underneath. As the ribbons move the bay will try to catch them and also the ability to track the objects as they move.
Use toilet paper rolls and stick them together on the wall, give them some pipe cleaners, pompom or shapes blocks anyhtign that fits the hole. Let them drop it and then find out where did it go. This is very useful for their fine-motor skills and co-ordination and grasp.
This is the best actvitiy to do with your kids and enjoy hours fo fun and entrtainment.
Use some coloured sheets, empty plastic bottles or cans, and some grains to fill in them. Cover the bottles with the birght paper.
Shake it, roll it, Stack them, ask them to match your sound. Great for visual discrimination for different sizes, stacks and music.
Place a mirror in front of the baby and then just watch, they can go crazy watching themselves sometimes you can play peek a boo with them, or maybe brush your teeth, Dress them up in a funny way and let them see, involve the entire family to play around in front of the mirror, sing songs, or clap-clap or even you can make funny faces!!!
Tie some balloon to your babys leg gently with wool or ribbon. Lay them on a mat and let them explore, Perfect for hours of fun and entrtainment and also for hand eye cordinaiton, hand and leg movement. Physcial devekopment and growht of the child.
Use some rice cereal and coconut oil or edible oil which you use for your baby and knead a soft dough, place it in a tray and gvie it your baby. Let them touch feel, make shapes, break and throw and explore, They will even eat so be sure to give anything that is edible.
Summer is the tie when we take out our splash pools, you can buy a small one just for your balcony or washroom. add some bubble fun and toys. Let them explore, splash, make and play with the bubbles, make out sounds.
Make a spider’s web inside a basket and keep your baby’s favourtie toys. Let him grab them and pull them out. This can be challenging so intially build an easy web which you can make it difficult later.
